Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains which cookies and browser-storage entries Open Backtest uses, why, and how you can control them. It complements the Privacy Policy.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
- authentication and session cookies, set when you sign in, to keep your account signed in and secure requests against forgery; they last for the session lifetime configured on your account;
- security cookies used during sign-in flows such as OAuth and passkeys, kept only as long as the flow requires.
3. Preference storage
- a locale cookie storing the language you selected;
- browser local storage holding your theme, sidebar state, dismissed notices, and the terminal workspace you asked the app to restore (layouts, chart state, drawings).
These entries only remember choices you made yourself, which is why they do not require a consent banner under the ePrivacy rules as applied by the CNIL.
4. What we do not use
We currently set no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no third-party analytics. If we introduce optional analytics or marketing technologies, we will ask for your consent before they are set.
5. Payments
During checkout, our merchant of record Polar and its payment processors may set their own cookies on their domains to secure the transaction; they are described in Polar's privacy documentation.
6. Your controls
You can clear or block cookies and site data at any time from your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent signing in; clearing local storage resets saved preferences and local workspaces.
7. Changes and contact
We will update this inventory when the product's storage changes. Questions can be sent to [contact email] or through the in-app Get Help form.
